Three Season Camping/Trekking
This is the best gear I've found for 90% of camping and trekking adventures in an country. Whether you're exploring the rural back-country of Oregon or on ANY trek (that I've found) in South America, this go-to gear is universal and dependable.
The Bitter Cold
I call the bitter cold -10 to -40 degrees Fahrenheit. You will waste so much time, money, and body heat testing out gear which works for you, and it can be downright dangerous to depend on an untried and tested product. My gear for the Bitter Cold took me through five months of mushing sled dogs throughout Alaska (hours of mushing on end) and lots of trial and error. Here is what works, and what does not.
Tropics ( Coast, Jungle )
Following the Equator, this gear list is aimed at protecting you from the unforgiving sun, heat, humidity and insects which tropical environments promise. My blunders and successes included.
World Circumnavigation (Indefinite Travel)
From Caribbean and South Pacific coasts to Andean and Himilayan mountain ranges, this is my ultimate gear list for multi-climate, indefinite travel. (It's less than you think)
